Riverside Living Center Holds AWBF Gala

Riverside Living Center, Piedmont, SC
Riverside Living Center, an 88 bed healthcare facility in Piedmont, South Carolina hosted Art Without Boundaries in February. The "paint-a-thon" was facilitated by Noell Hammer, founder of the the program and 43 paintings were produced during the Mnemetecnic Therapy sessions.

In March, Riverside held a successful AWBF Gala, with over 200 guests, honoring the artists and auctioning the paintings. Over $11,000 was raised to continue to receive regular Mnemetecnic Therapy services.

Carla Heritage, Executive Director was "thrilled with the program." She stated: "The residents have found a sense of purpose as they created these wonderful paintings. These elders are in the winter of their life and this experience has brought a breath of springtime amid the doldrums of those winter days. In addition, our family members are touched as they see the smiles on the faces of their loved ones.  Not only are they surprised and amazed at this newfound talent, but the paintings give them priceless treasures to hold onto."
