We’re not paying enough attention to nutrition and our children are paying the price.
As parents, we work hard to give our children every possible advantage in life. Yet too often we don't have the time (or don't make the time) to look after their nutritional health. We're too busy. We don't completely understand what eating right means ourselves. And we're battling some pretty formidable enemies such as junk food and fast food.
|
As a result, our children eat and drink too much sugar,
consume too many empty calories, and don't eat enough
of the good things they need - especially fresh fruits and
vegetables. Because we unwittingly allow them to be
MALNOURISHED, our children will be at risk of
developing degenerative diseases such as heart
disease, cancer, diabetes, and stroke at a much younger
age.
Here are a few of the startling statistics:
- Less than 7% of all children and adolescents
consume the recommended 3 servings of
vegetables per day.(Archives of Pediatrics &
Adolescent Medicine)
- 1 child in 4 is obese.(International Journal of
Obesity)
- Nearly 50% of obese adolescents remain obese as
adults.(International Journal of Obesity)
- About 6% of elementary school children and 7% of
adolescent children miss 11 or more days of
school yearly due to illness or injury.(Center for
Disease Control and Prevention)
- In the last 20 years, Type 2 diabetes has
increased ten-fold. (International Journal of
Obesity)
- By the age of 12, an estimated 70% of our children
have developed the beginning stages of
hardening of the arteries. (Bogalusa Heart Study)
- 7% of school age children are diagnosed as ADHD.

Getting kids to eat right is an uphill battle. Getting
them to eat the recommended 8-10 servings of fruits
and vegetables is nearly impossible.
That's why AWB is promoting the
Eat a Rainbow Program
COLOR YOUR WORLD
- Instead of empty, unhealthy snacks, have bite-
size pieces of organic fruits and veggies to
"graze" on after school and all weekend long.
- Have grab bags of cut up SuperFoods for in the
car. Raw nuts and seeds add protein. Skip the
sugary and salty "trail mix" and make your own.
- Take a safari to your organic produce section
and have a contest of who can come up with the
most colors for in the salad. Fruit can go in
salads too! Get creative!
- Find new and exciting ways to prepare
homemade soups like creamy carrot (carrots
are actually more nutritious cooked!) and
broccoli and cheese (Broccoli shouldn't be
eaten raw-too hard to digest)
- Trying to beat the crunchy snack addiction?
Then get some freeze dried veggies. They are
nearly as healthy as the real thing and really
good!
GUMMIE ANYONE?
One of the most famous pediatricians in the world, Dr.
William Sears www.askdrsears recommends an easy,
affordable way to get more fruits and veggies into the
whole family:
"Juice Plus+®. has good science behind it and makes
good sense. A whole food based supplement! Whole
foods, a bunch of the healthiest fruits and vegetables,
juiced and dried at low temperatures, removing the
water, sugar, salt and bulk. These nutritious juice
powders are then put into capsules, chewables and
gummies!....Since taking Juice Plus+® daily and
following an overall healthy eating and exercise
program I have not even had so much as a cold, even
though my wonderful little patients share their germs
with me everyday. The parents of children who are
sick a lot often thank me: “Since my children have
been taking Juice Plus+® they haven’t been sick as
often.” Juice Plus+® is now the only whole food
supplement I take. I’m pleased to recommend the joy
of taking Juice Plus+®. to everyone who takes their
health seriously."
Juice Plus+® is whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 17 different fruits,
vegetables and grains. Each ingredient is specially selected to provide a broad range of nutritional
benefits for the whole family.
Juice Plus+ is a complement to a healthy diet. Juice Plus+ is the simple, convenient, and inexpensive way
to add more nutrition from fruits and vegetables to your diet, every day. Juice Plus+ is supported by
clinical research conducted by researchers at leading hospitals and universities around the world and
published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Juice Plus+ is recommended by thousands of doctors and
health professionals around the world.

Juice Plus+® Children's Health Study
The Juice Plus+® Children's Health Study is a large-scale,
multi-year survey designed to determine what effect adding a
whole food based nutritional product (Juice Plus+®) to the
family diet can have on children's health. The study is
designed around three interrelated premises:
- Improved nutrition leads to healthier lifestyles and
overall better health.
- Good nutrition and other important health habits are
best established in childhood.
- Parental support and involvement are the keys to
successfully establishing good health habits in children.
To provide as broad a base of information as possible, we
hope to enroll tens of thousands of families from around the
world who have children ages 4-18 or full-time undergraduate
college students ages 19 and above. As an incentive to
encourages families to participate, the Study will provide the
child's (or college student's) Juice Plus+® products free
for three years, as long as a parent, grandparent, or
other adult begins to take the product along with the
child or student participant. This requirement reflects the
importance we place on parental support and involvement. It
also will help ensure a higher survey response rate, which
should lead to more meaningful results.

Why is an organization named Art Without Boundaries™
sponsoring an awareness campaign about a
commercial product?
A Message from AWB Founder, Noell Hammer
The mission of AWB is improve the quality of life for individuals with Autism,
Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders of the brain by promoting
MnemeTherapy.™ To accomplish that, we recruit, train, certify and license
artists to become MnemeTherapists and provide matching grants for artists to
open AWB Chapters.
My time in the field certifying students has put me face to face with America's
health crisis. I see families with multiple children suffering with everything from
ADD to severe autism and parents wringing their hands in despair and
confusion.
As a parent of an ADD child, I know first hand the heartbreak of mental
disabilities. Now that I know there's something I can do to get better nutrition
into these kids and as a result, better brain health, I will do everything within
my power to get the word out.
As Dr. Sears says, the company and the research are sound, the product
comes in many forms, and the impressive dedication and focus on nutritional
education is evidenced by The Children's Health Study. I'm proud to partner
in promoting wellness with such a company.
