Our Mission We are a Professional Association with the mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with Autism, Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders of the brain by promoting MnemeTherapy® To accomplish that, we recruit, train and certify artists to become MnemeTherapists. Membership in AWBA is required to practice MnemeTherapy® |
What is MnemeTherapy®? MnemeTherapy® uses everyday pleasures such as singing, movement, painting and story telling in a unique combination to stimulate dramatic changes in the brain. Although our goal is to provide a rewarding experience, documented testimonies show significant improvement in some clients in verbal skills, mobility, combativeness, spatial acuity, understanding instructions plus much more! |

"I can’t praise the Kasey Watson and Art Without Boundaries program enough. The result of the program for our residents has been amazing! We've enjoyed surprisingly beautiful art, residents that smiled and responded during the session, were more alert and tranquil after the session and seemed much more content with the remaining part of the hour and sometimes even the rest of the day after the session.I would highly recommend the program." We're a Virtual Professional Association: We have no office space, paid staff and we operate without fund raising. We recruit, communicate, do continuing education and share ideas via the Internet: on Facebook, through conference calls and recorded interviews. Applicants pay a membership fee and receive training, certification and continuing education. Want more info on training? Click here! |
The curriculum is self directed with a Mentor. Mentors go to the student's location for Certification week, so the student learns how to network locally. Members open their own private practice and pay dues to the Association. The good news? Membership fee and dues are tax deductible. Want to see if there's a MT in your area? |
Because we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Members can fund raise and 100% of the donations are returned to their community to provide MT services. Want to donate for services in your community? Click here! |
We provide part time job opportunities for students who need to help to earn their membership fee, or others who share our passion. AWBA's sister organization; Wellness Workshop (http://wellnessworkshop.org) carries out our mission of digestive health education. Wellness Coach training is Free! |
"The self-esteem alone that his program brings is amazing! You can see the glow and smiles on the faces of the Residents as they hold up their finished product...they just beam." Admissions Coordinator, FL |
"(My son) began working with Mary a year ago and he has made outstanding strides since that time. (He) has increased his vocabulary, attention, and focus. Before beginning MnemeTherapy with Mary, (he) rarely spoke in sentences and did not have spontaneous speech. Anthony... now forms sentences on his own and has begun to have spontaneous speech w/out prompts!!! Mary and the MnemeTherapy program are AMAZING. From parent of student of Mary Jussel, CMT, Boise, ID |
"We strive everyday to bring new and innovative activities to our Residents.I have trouble finding the words to describe what the Art Without Boundaries™ program has brought to our facility. This program boosts cognition, self-worth and brings a sense of accomplishment to our Residents. They are getting a great moment in time, having fun (yet working hard) and succeeding in a finished product they can be proud of. Although there are so many things our Residents can no longer do, MnemeTherapy is something they CAN do and provides a sense of pride and self-esteem" -Activities Director Read more testimonials about AWB |

From Larry Homan, Master MnemeTherapist, serving Coon Rapids, MN "My client, Kathy Ulrich, gave me permission to share her picture and brief story. Kathy called me a few months ago after hearing about MnemeTherapy from a friend who also provided her with a brochure. Kathy had a stroke two years ago and has been in a wheel chair since then. She has very limited use of the right side or her body. She said she has been depressed and felt like she couldn't do anything. During our first session together, Kathy began to cry. When I asked her what was wrong, she said she was crying tears of joy, because she could finally do something worthwhile. Yesterday, I worked with her again. She had received some art supplies from her sister including brushes, paints and stretched canvases. She asked if we could use the supplies and I said 'Absolutley!' So she chose a picture from the inspiration book and painted it on the canvas, which she titled "Cottage Garden". As we were talking after she finished, she said this was her favorite one, so far. She also said 'This is the best two hours of my month!' Feeling humbled and blessed to be doing what I do." |
